WOMEN’S CENTRE FUNDING: The Women’s Centre has been supporting the women of Christchurch for over 30 years through a range of free and low cost services. We are a vital link in the network of support services that exist in Christchurch and in this post-earthquake environment our services are needed more than ever. We are deeply grateful for all the financial and non-financial support that we receive. Since no funding is guaranteed, and the generous donations we receive are mostly one-off gifts we will continue to ask you to please keep all the goodness flowing.
Here are some way how you can help

· Make a short video or written testimonial of the links you have with the Women’s Centre - the importance of our organisation to you or your service and to the wellbeing of the Christchurch community. We have a lot of lesbian novels and books on lesbian issues available. Many of these books have been gifted to the library, for which we are extremely thankful.

After a lot of thought, I have decided to wind down the notices. But don’t panic just yet! It won’t be happening until the end of the year so we still have six months to go! I understand this will be disappointing to a lot of people out there, but it really is a sign of the times that every week I have people unsubscribing, and less and less people signing up and placing ads. Of course if there is anyone out there who would like to take over, please get in touch. I would be very happy to pass them onto someone who has more time than me and who can maybe put some time into making them better than they are.
I think a lot of people are using social media to keep up with what is happening in our community and between now and the end of the year I may relaunch the notices as some sort of social media page where people can post their ads. If anyone has any suggestions of how they’d like to see this evolve, please let me know!

CHRISTCHURCH VEGGIE PUFFS DINING GROUP: The Veggie Puffs Dining Group is run under the auspices of the Christchurch Vegetarian Centre and is open to all members of the gay/lesbian community who enjoy vegetarian and vegan food, with the provisio that only vegan/vegetarian food is ordered when dining out with the group. Only pay for what you order. Most of our members are vegetarians/vegans or have a veggie partner or just really like veg food! CHOIR MEMBERS NEEDED - Female choir Out Of The Blue is looking for a few more singers - bass, tenor, alto or soprano. Practices are every Monday 7.30-9.30pm, except during school holidays. Q-TOPIA
A social network for queer youth (or youth who are questioning their sexual identity) in the Canterbury region aged 14 - 25. We run regular social events and aim to have a lot of fun. We meet on Thursdays 7 pm - 8.30 pm, some of our events include coffee nights, movies, picnics, ten-pin bowling, go-kart racing, watching DVD's or simply hanging out. Q-topia provides a social support group for queer youth that affirms and appreciates the diverse qualities of participants. By providing a safe and interesting space for queer youth to meet others, Q-topia aims to provide an environment where those who attend the group can safely explore issues and be supported in having pride in who they are.
