Lesbian Support

WOMEN’S CENTRE FUNDING: We are deeply grateful for all the support that we have received since we faced a funding crisis in March 2016.  The financial and non-financial support have touched us greatly.  Though we are not in financial crisis at the moment we still have to be extremely careful, as no funding is guaranteed, and the generous donations we received are mostly one-off gifts.  So please keep all the goodness coming...   The Women’s Centre has been supporting the women of Christchurch for the past 30 years through a range of free and low cost services.  We are a vital link in the network of support services that exist in Christchurch and in this post-earthquake environment our services are needed more than ever.

How you can help

·         We have established a Givealittle page for donations , please share this link and our plight as widely as possible https://givealittle.co.nz/org/womensc

·        Make a short video or written testimonial of the links you have with the Women’s Centre - the importance of our organisation to you or your service and to the wellbeing of the Christchurch community.  This can be done simply on a mobile phone and forwarded to us.  The intention is to upload these to our Givealittle page.

If you need any further information contact Ardas (Manager) or Ariane (Centre Co-ordinator) at the Centre on 03 371 7414.

Together we can make a difference.

The WOMEN’S CENTRE HAS MOVED: We are now located at: Unit 3 / 242 Ferry Rd, Waltham, Christchurch 8011. This is opposite the famous “Bronskis Dairy”.

A comment has been made that we are not doing some of the walks that people like, so I am asking that people let me know what walks they want included, and, I am also seeking offers from people to lead them. (We have a few walks that did not go ahead from the last schedule, which could probably be included on the next one, if those leaders were in agreement?)
If you suggest a walk, please make sure it is actually suitable for the time of year, and also that it is currently open, as a number of walks have been closed by the Port Hills fire.
I look forward to suggestions....If you have a favourite walk that is not currently on the schedule, let’s try it out.
Please email Tim on tim.redwood@slingshot.co.nz if you would like to be involved!

Q-TOPIA YOUTH GROUP NEEDS YOUR HELP:  https://givealittle.co.nz/org/qtopia We are currently facing unprecedented need in Canterbury for support and education, while this is awesome it does not pay the bills.  We have had to expand and hire additional staff to handle the requirements from community but we have not been able to secure additional funding to cover this.  We need your help to remain operational, please consider donating to Q-topia and pass our givealittle page round all of your contacts and friends.  We are also seeking sponsorship, if your work place or company is looking for an awesome group to support please get in touch with us on: manager@qtopia.org.nz

Hi Filia, I just wanted to text and say thank you so much for Saturday. We had a fantastic day, it was just perfect!! Cheers, Mel
We were really happy with Filia as our celebrant. She was always warm, friendly, relaxed and helpful. Nothing was ever a problem for her. She was happy to come to us when we were busy.  Was always in contact with us by email (which was our preferred way as we were not often by our phones). Filia was happy to change the ceremony until it was just what we wanted and was happy with a last minute change right before the ceremony. She reminded us of all the practical things we needed and we would recommend her to anyone. Thank you Filia for being a part of our day! Sarah

If your idea of a great holiday is exploring unusual places, quirky hotels, and atmospheric local restaurants with other compatible gay adventurers.  Outside the Square's vision is of travel adventures shared with other gay individuals who crave the kinds of holiday not offered in the traditional gay marketplace.   Ladies I would so appreciate your feedback, as the site is gay men focused but I am working on a women focused sister site running the same trips on different dates. Is this the type of adventure travel website you would be interested in following?  Would you be happy for me (a gay man) to run a trip or would you feel more comfortable for a woman to take a women’s only trip? Or are you open to both?  Which trip on the website do you feel would appeal to women most? Bali / Burma / or NZ Great Walks!  Your feedback would be most appreciated and if you know me, you can make it anonymous  ots.adventures@gmail.com
